Mark Henderson, M.D., F.A.C.P.
Dr. Henderson graduated from the UCSF School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency and chief residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center. He was recruited to UC Davis in 2000 and is currently Professor of Clinical Medicine, Vice Chair for Education and the Internal Medicine Residency Program Director.
Dr. Henderson is a highly regarded clinician-educator and leader in general internal medicine education. He has served on the Council of the Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine (APDIM) and is editor of the highly acclaimed APDIM Toolkit for program directors and several other books. He has developed innovative training programs at both UT San Antonio and UC Davis. His academic and research interests include medical student career choice, hospitalists in medical education, syncope, anticoagulation, utility of the medical history, and the use of evidence-based systematic reviews in medical education. He has done medical work in several Latin American countries including a recent trip to Nicaragua with a group of first-year medical students.
His personal interests include downhill skiing, major league baseball, rock music, and spending time with his 3 children.
