The School of Medicine and the School of Nursing Excellent Attendance Program
We regret to inform you that the University of California’s Office of the President (UCOP) has deferred the School of Medicine and the School of Nursing’s Excellent Attendance Program for Fiscal Year 2008/2009. As you are aware, the University has reviewed many programs for cost savings opportunities. Many recognition and incentive programs were deferred, cancelled, or were altered in other ways to save money. A decision about this program for the upcoming year and years to follow has not yet been determined by UCOP.
As in the past, the Human Resources Office will continue to review the attendance data for eligible, unrepresented employees in the School of Medicine and the School of Nursing. The names of employees who would have been eligible for an award will be kept on file. If in the future, UCOP authorizes us to recognize employees with excellent attendance this past year, those employees will be readily identified. Although UCOP authorization seems unlikely, we will keep the names on file in the event that an alternative method of recognizing employees with excellent attendance can be accomplished. Should the 08/09 program be eliminated, UCOP will provide a special complaint process for employees to dispute decisions affecting their bonus and/or incentive payment(s) that stem directly from the Regents’ Actions.
Please continue to reflect accurate and timely attendance records so that we have an accurate report to review.
